  Time Flyin'
Well as I blogged about now two weeks ago, time is continually flying by for me, as evidenced by my posting only once at the beginning of each week, not frequently enough... This should be a long week as I need to get a report out by the end of the week so long hours ahead, not so fun.

Weekend in review... Friday worked late, til about 10, then just kicked it. Saturday morn' went to the driving range with my Dad, he is looking at getting some new golf clubs, then met Adam for a quick 18 at Lake San Marcos Exec, I played pretty well, shot 11 over, finishing with back to back doubles on easy holes. Adman though was destroying me... making super long putts, sand saves, etc. and ended up with a four over, a good round by anybodies standards.

Today at lunch I bit into my sandwich and right into a peppercorn, that was part of the salami or some other meat in my italian sub... Guess what I don't like, biting into peppercorns, why are they even in lunchmeat? Does anyone ever bite into them and react with a "sweet! I got a peppercorn!" I didn't think so... What is the deal with peppercorns?

Also not a small change to my bloggers I don't know, I have removed Easterblogg, he has stopped doing his blog to concentrate on other more upstanding writing endeavers, like Tuesday Morning Quarterback (TMQ), one of the best profootball columns around during the season. I am sad to see him go though as he routinely had good entries, especially about some science stuff like the space program, and others about the root of all evil: SUV's. Particularly how the US puts young american troops in harm's way so that people back home can drive gas guzzling cars.

Anyway I replaced easterblogg with blog maverick, the Mark Cuban weblog. He is a rich guy who owns the Dallas Mavericks, who has some interesting things to say about all sorts of stuff, including the NBA and some computer/tech stuff. Particularly interesting to some computer nerds would be the Success and motivation, parts 1-3, (although I don't think he is done yet) entries where he details his success story. The short story is he was a poor kid straight out of college, then he taught himself all sorts of software and started selling it, and eventually became a billionaire. Has some good little entries from a guy who doesn't seem to take himself very seriously at all and recognizes how lucky he was, even though he worked very hard to get everything he has. Check it out.

It's a Party... it doesn't have to make sense
Well it was a weekend of celebrating, first we BBQ'd for Eryn's 29th B-day on Saturday and went out to dinner on Sunday night for Mom's day. Throw in a golf tournament on Sunday morning, and it was a pretty good time... We played poker at Eryn's party and I got the worst cards ever, but I was able to minimize my losses and only lost $2 out of $5, and about half of that was when Norm cracked my flopped full boat with a four of a kind, painful.

In other news I should be getting my monitor back soon, I guess FedEx tried to deliver it yesterday, I feel a little lost not having easy access in my living room at all times, so hopefully I can get that up and running again.

I am super busy at work this week so I better get back to it...

You have the... uh... the Royal Samplah
Ah the end of another weekend, I am constantly surprised by how quickly the weeks fly by, things quickly progress from Monday to Soccer on Tuesday, Hoops on Wednesday, then it is Thursday so tomorrow is Friday, before you know it Monday morning again...

Well, this weekend was busy, full of fun activities... Friday night I met Adam for the going away Happy Hour for our soccer teams former goalie, a good time, followed that up with dinner with Adam and Diana. After dinner I stopped by my parents house for a few minutes to check in with my Pops, he was released from the hospital earlier in the day, and was feeling much better and was well down the road to recovery from his Malaria, then got home pretty early I think that night. Getting home early on Friday nights is starting to become one of my favorite things (and proof that I am old), every once in a while it it just nice, especially if it follows a busy work week. Just the chance to relax on the couch read the paper, and last Friday watch the remaining Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes from season 1.

An aside here: That show rocks. I started watching the hour long special that started it all. Basically the idea for the show was taken from the original pitch that Larry David made to HBO to do a stand up special, as part of the special there would be an hour long (documentary type) show where a camera man would follow Larry around for the 40 days or so prior to this "come back" stand up routine and show his preparation and just his daily life as he prepares his act. In this special they divulge that Larry used to do stand up prior to writing/ creating the Seinfeld show, and it is clear that he got mixed reviews as a comic, despite being very funny. Watching the shows it is funny to see how much of the Seinfeld characters he has in him, a lot of George (obviously the best character on the show), just a lot of little hints. Anyway, find a way to watch this show, especially if you liked Seinfeld at all.

Saturday, was the title day of the weekend, all poker all the time... not all the time, but still. Went out to Sycuan with Adam, Diana, and M.Kyle, it was a good time, even though I got crap for cards, got knocked out pretty early, making a suspect play, and really didn't play any hands. Saturday night we played some couples poker, homegame style which was fun for the company and for the fact that I won some money back. In between "I had a pretty good little Saturday." I went out to get a few things for the house visiting Linens and Things, Cost Plus, Ross, and Marshalls looking for a new bath towel and a footrest for our living room. I found almost exactly the kind of footrest I was looking for, just a little 18"x18"x24" fabric covered block of foam, but they wanted $50 for it, $100 if it was covered by leather or pleather, what a rip off, I am going to look into making my own, with assistance from my Mom.

Sunday was all about getting outside, it was particularly hot, so soccer in the morning was exhausting, I then followed that up with some golf in the afternoon, after that I was pretty well cooked. Sara and I then had dinner and went to the movies to see Man on Fire (sorry, I am too lazy to do links), it was pretty good, although would probably get panned by Mick, a lot of formulaic(sp?) stuff.

Now its monday...

Hopefully I can post more often soon, I am still without monitor at home so until that changes posts will be pretty infrequent.
