Hey you! I know you. I know you. Well once again it has been far too long between posts, but let's skip to excuses...

SNES... $35
extra controllers... $15
multitap... $15
NHL 94... $4

reliving your youth... priceless.

That's right Ebay project no. 1 officially done. Last night I got the final pieces home and all set up. At first I was horrified to find that the multitap wasn't working, but I could tell it just wasn't seating properly in its slot, so I forced it and it started to work. I played a couple of test games, making sure the game was all I remembered... it was. Sara was also pretty excited, after I put up 5 quick goals in the first period on Moog's head, each one causing the siren to sound for a couple seconds, she responded "the sound on that game is soooo annoying!" I ended up playing three games in total and was reaquainted with an old friend 'nintendo thumb,' ahhh the pain...

In other news... it's Friday and I can't wait to get out of here (work) for the weekend.

  Ditto
Another week, another weekend round up...

Friday, Sara and I went out for dinner at Los Cabos, a nice mexican restaurant right next to my old stomping grounds, the Del Mar Highlands movie theater. The food was really good if slightly overpriced. One of the funny things though is that this place bought out a neighboring establishment and opened up a bar portion, it is as you might expect referred to as "the Cantina" and just seeing the clientele in that place cracked me up. Just like the 20 somethings you can find rolling around places like En Fuego and Epizote's this place had the same crowd but of 30 and 40 somethings, who were really determined to prove to themselves that they were not over the hill, just funny. That night Sara and I settled in to watch our latest get from netflix, which much to my dismay was 40 days and 40 nights, some dumb movie with Josh Hartnett, when he can't have sex or something. Sara had snuck this not only onto our queue but to the top of it, I had no interest in seeing the movie but took one for the team and we put it on, luckily it only took about 10 minutes for Sara to come around to my side and we quickly turned it off, making it one of three movies that I have started watching and made the decision to stop watching it, joining the list of The Big Hit and Dude, where's my car? Just an awful movie, nothing more to say.

Saturday, I played a quick 9 with my Dad at TP and shot a 43, which was nice since I didn't play all that well I was horrible with my putter, I think I had 3 or 4 three putts. They had just gotten the course in perfect shape for the Jr. World championships, and I never got the speed of the greens down. Then I went and saw Spideyman 2 with Norm, Teri, Adam, and Diana, I thought it was very so-so, lots of cool stuff but lots of stuff that just didn't fit right. So I was disappointed since Spidey one I remember as very good, one of the better comic to movie adaptations. Saturday night had a little BBQ with the same peeps and played some pokie, homegame style, it was a good time. I suffered some bad beats but mostly they were my fault for getting into the situations I did. I find it tough to really focus on the game though after playing at a casino for much larger stakes, not that it wasn't fun, it was just not as exhilarating as playing for large stakes when you pull a hand.

Sunday... morning soccer, a good time as always. Then in the afternoon I played golf with Adam and Diana and was playing really well, hit a lot of good shots, my putting whoa's subsided and I made a lot of 8-10 footers to save pars and even had some birdies, including two that were short like 3 feet or so, so that was awesome, to hit it so close. I ended up at 3 over, probably my best score there by 6 strokes. After golf the three of us and Sara met up for dinner down at the beach, just picked up some CPK to take down there, it was nice to spend some time on the sand before the weekend was over, I really want to make an effort to get down to the beach more often.

I guess that is all for now

  Same ol' story...
Long time no post... what has happened since my last post, I went and played poker at a local casino twice, lost some and won more. I played soccer twice at lunch last week, which was great, I am in two minds about whether it gets me more willing to go back to work or not. Half of me thinks that was great now I feel good about getting some exercise, I am ready to work! While the other half reminisces back to the year of the bum when lunchtime soccer was followed by extended beach time or a trip to Mike's to play Goldeneye.

Last weekend was a nice long one for the 4th of July, and it was great, I wish all weekends were 3 days and could be so good. Went out for dinner with Sara on friday night to Hash House in Hillcrest which was good, they have absolutely enormous portions of food, we split an entree and it was plenty of food, so check that place out if you are lookin for a place to eat in SD. That night we watched Master and Commander, it was a little slow and probably seemed more-so since it was late when we started watching, but it was pretty good. Saturday morning I went to play golf with my Pops at TP, we were just a little to late to get out before tee times started so we had to wait around for an extra hour to get away, but I played pretty good, but squandered many great chances for pars, but I am pretty pleased with the direction of my golf game. After doing some prep work for the 4th and watching some soccer with Eryn, I went to play pokie with Adam and Diana.

On the fourth I played soccer in the morning, we had only a small game, 5 a side, but it was one of the better games we have had in quite some time, plus with the small numbers I got plenty of exercise. After that it was off to the beach for a BBQ with freinds and freinds of freinds, it worked out really well, getting a spot on the beach wasn't difficult parking wasn't too bad, the weather was perfect and the water was warm. It seemed like such an easy thing that I think we may try to do it more often, which would be awesome. Plus it was great to see some freinds that I don't get to see that often, the Buhrs including Lando who is all grownsed up, practically, and a couple of the Reynolds' who are on thier way out of town in relatively short time.

Monday, I got to sleep in... over the past year or so I have had only few occasions to truly sleep in with Sunday morning soccer and Saturday morning golf being pretty regular things. I would always prefer to wake up to do something fun but still I was glad to get the chance to sleep in. I met Adam for some golf up at Lomas we both played well particularly on the front nine, then after dinner I watched the Euro 2004 final and Greece making the most improbable run to the title, I think it would be the rough equivalent of the Chargers winning the Super Bowl this year.

There we go a week plus in review...
