Bonus Post A couple of quick hits:

I went to the Dave Matthews concert last night, it was good, but probably not great, especially at $60 for seats that were predictably good not great, luckily Sara picked up the tab.

Tomorrow I fly out to Tuscon to meet up with Sara, she is driving out today for her 10-year HS reunion, I have no idea what to make of the whole thing especially since I missed mine.

If you are a techno geek, please check out Marc Cuban's Blog Maverick (link on the right). He has a very interesting entry about HDTV material, possible new media for sending out movies, etc. Also check out a search engine he is affiliated with icerocket I think it is pretty cool. Particularly of note if you are a PDA internet guy is thier email a search feature supposed to be pretty sweet.

I thought there was something else but can't recall it right now...

  Time for a Life Change
I put in my notice on Friday, so I have only 10 more working days before I am done, but that 10 days is actually going to be less as school starts in one week. I have decided that the time is right for me to go back to school and get a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. I am really looking forward to the whole experience, with the possible exception of being a poor college student, but money comes and goes and I am sure I can get by in the meantime, plus once summer comes around I should be involved in some research that should give me a little spending money… and if all else fails the door is still open for me to return to my current job part time, so I have that going for me which is nice…

Speaking of different lives… I almost feel guilty about what a care-free weekend I had, after hearing about Mick’s weekend of hell and reading about the trials and tribulations of fatherhood from Gabe’s blog. My weekend was going to the race track on Friday afternoon, I lost a little bit with a lot of close calls on Trifectas and Exactas, then Saturday golf in the morning, the beach in the afternoon, and poker that night. Sunday, soccer in the morning then to the beach, an early dinner at Las Olas, then that night watched the Last Samurai, which was surprisingly good, I wasn’t too fired up to see it but was glad I did. I can see what all the Oscar talk revolving around Ken Watanabe was about, very very solid performance.

It is not that I forever want to be devoid of serious responsibility, in fact quite the contrary but I am very content right now, and there isn’t a better time to live in SD than late August, early September.
